Breads

I know you are thinking 'What? No way! Way too much work'.  But I'm telling you, these rolls are as easy as crescent rolls could ever be.  I won't lie; they do take some effort but, as you can see by the pictures, it'll be well worth it.  Try them once and you'll see that I'm telling the truth. Try them twice and you'll be known for your delicious rolls.

I remember some things in my childhood more clearly than others. The smell of banana bread and Boiled Raisin Cake are two of those really clear memories. My mom baked them both often enough that it was somewhat routine. After I got married, I got my mom's recipes for both. I've never made the raisin cake but the banana bread is a tried and true recipe that never fails. Through the years I've tried several other very successful banana bread recipes but somehow mom's is still the best. Maybe it's nostalgia. Or it could just be fact.

The other night while in that state of floating off to sleep my eyes popped wide open.

I remembered the next morning I was to attend a brunch with friends and I had forgotten to make something to take.  Almost as a gift, wrapped in the most beautiful bow, a thought came to me.  If I took some frozen roll dough from the freezer and put it in the refrigerator the dough would be thawed by morning.
